Friends & Family,
Early Tuesday morning at 2:30am, The facilities at Eastlake Little League (ELL) were broken into. The perpetrators stole multiple items from our concessions stand, dry storage, and maintenance garage. In doing so, they also damaged multiple doors and locks. The total damages and property theft are still being assessed, but the approximate total value of loss is well in the thousands of dollars range.
Eastlake Little League is a non-profit association that benefits the Chula Vista community on an annual basis. Our enrollment is comprised of over 550 youth athletes and dozens of volunteers who come together to form one of the best youth sport associations in the nation.
This loss is not only frustrating and disappointing, but a significant financial setback to our program. ELL is located on private property and does not receive assistance from the city for maintenance. Because of this, the majority of our budget is spent on maintaining the facilities, baseball equipment and playing fields. This does not allow for any financial reserves. All remaining money is spent on improving the experience of our players.
Although this is a setback, we are comforted by the fact that our community supports us and is extending help.
We are extremely grateful for the positive encouragement we have received thus far, and are looking forward to getting back on the field.
Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to our youth.
