Eastmoor Dragons Legend lives on! Help his family!

Donation protected
What can we say about the man Dave Roberts!! Eastmoor Dragons legend and rugby league legend. Certainly completed his apprenticeship in rugby league in the amateur community game through to grand master. He played the game then for years helped and coached a lot of tear away troubled teens through the youth levels keeping them in line throughout life. Dave coached at district level and Yorkshire county level before going on to coach BARLA Young Lions taking lads on tours all over the world. After his coaching Dave became Chairman at Eastmoor Dragons keeping the club going through some bad patches but just to say he was chairman would be selling him short.
His time he put in at the club was unspeakable and the jobs he covered was too much for 1 man but Dave handled them and thrived. He was always there to help anybody that needed and he would do anything for anyone as I’m sure you all know throughout the Eastmoor community and the the wider rugby league community.  I’m sure that Dave would at some point been to every club in the amateur game and he was known with contacts in all pots.
Unfortunately  Dave fell ill with the Covid19 and sadly passed away at 06:00 on 14th April 2020.
Dave leaves behind his wife Ann who is recovering from her own illness and their 2 children, his daughter Charlotte who is expecting their first grandchild and there son Toby. I can imagine that these are going to be tough times ahead so my heart goes out to them. If there is anything they need just remember we are there.
Lets get round together to do what Dave would have been the first to do and step up and help a family showing our support for them at what could only be an unthinkable bearable time.
The thing is in rugby league it’s not just a game it’s a way of life and a chosen family that comes together in a time of need and stick together through the good and the bad.
thank you for your support much appreciated.
So what is suggested is to raise a glass/bottle/jug and down a drink and as we say in rugby league chuck a quid in the pot in memory of Dave Roberts.
