Eaton Fire Recovery Fund for Michael and Megan
Donation protected
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to share the devastating news that my brother Michael and his wife Megan's beloved house in Altadena was destroyed in the Eaton Fire on Tuesday, January 7th.
When they moved into the house in 2009, the 1909 craftsman was in desperate need of care and restoration. Over a period of almost ten years, Megan and Michael poured their hearts, savings, and countless hours into restoring it. From refinishing the original floors, woodwork, and windows, to laying the brick paths and planting the trees, they turned a house into a home where they raised their children until 2018.
When they moved to neighboring La Cañada to better support their children's educational needs, they rented the Altadena house to another family with the hope of returning to the house once their children completed their educational journeys. Seeing the house reduced to ashes is heartbreaking.
Michael and Megan are fortunate. Their family is safe and their belongings were in their home in La Cañada, but they now face the daunting task of cleaning up and rebuilding the property from the ground up. Because family and friends have been asking to help, this fund has been set up for anyone who has been looking to lend their support.
Thank you for taking the time to read their story and for offering any help you can. Your kindness and generosity will help them not only rebuild their home but also preserve the spirit of the place and neighborhood they loved so deeply.
