Eaton Fire Took Everything: Help Matthew & Audrey

Donation protected

My brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Audrey, just recently lost their home during the devastating Eaton Fire that is still ravaging the area. Thankfully they have been able to evacuate but was given this terrifying news that no one had foreseen.

Matthew and Audrey had bought this home just three years ago, recently had gotten married, and had made the happiest announcement of bringing their first child into the world during the Christmas season. These past couple of months have been filled with joy of preparing for this new addition to the family, from baby supplies, clothes, and furniture.

January 7th: Audrey celebrated her birthday; the day was full of celebration and birthday wishes from family and friends. No one had thought that the day would be ending with messages of concern and wondering if they had made it out of their home safely. The news was filled with images of the Eaton Fire that was eating away at Altadena. Matthew and Audrey had one thought in their mind, they need to get out for the sake of the baby. California had seen fires before, they just needed to get away from the smoke and debris to keep the mother and child healthy. We all thought this would be the end of it but was slapped into what felt like an alternate reality, their house was gone. Everything from family photos, wedding photos, photos of their unborn child, furniture, appliances, everything that made this house their home had been burned down, taken from them.

We want to help in any way we can to keep the burden off of a new mother-to-be and father-to-be. With the waves of joy that came from becoming new parents, came the thoughts of realizing they no longer had the home to welcome their new son into.

Let’s bring back the smiles that are shown in this photo, any amount will help them in this dire time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that have been experiencing the same tragedy that is Eaton Fire.

Your donation, no matter the size, will help with:

• Essential items like clothing, toiletries, and food

• Basic furniture and household items

• Baby supplies including diapers, wipes, clothes, furniture, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to read about their story, we know they are not alone in this and hope each and every victim of this tragedy will be helped.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving this couple some relief.

Update (1/15/2025):

Hi everyone. Matthew and Audrey would like to thank everyone for their generosity and compassion. They are deeply touched by the outpouring of support from everyone who has donated and shared their gofundme link. While they wish they could thank each of you directly, they’re taking this time to process and figure out next steps. Please know how much they appreciate your kindness and generosity from the bottom of their hearts.
