Eaton Fire Survivor Our House is not a Home, Help Us Restart

I am Lauren Monroe (Wormley)
My grandparents/mother’s home at 3176 N. Olive Ave, Altadena, CA, is a home no longer standing amongst many more in the city.
My grandparents, Elmo and Beatrice Stubblefield, bought this home in 1974 and raised my Aunt Dana, my Mom Ranell, and Uncle Kelly, and us her grandkids La Porsche, James and myself Lauren, (WE ARE ALL PHS ALUMNI) as well as their 10 great grandchildren plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and others considered family. It was OUR safe space growing up from the 70’s, 80s & 90’s and 2000s thus far.
Myself, my older sister, and older brother have all raised our children in this same home. We just lost our Father Donald F. Wormley January 2023, and Our Grandmother Beatrice Srubblefield in July 2024 (All 3 are hopefully still in the Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum Wall Outside Area) Our Grandfather Elmo STUBBLEFIELD (2009) and Aunt Dana Stubblefield (1994). But now we have no place to call home, come home to, or visit when our family from out of state visits. So many memories are gone but will never be forgotten.
Mother Nature has truly become a thief in the night, literally. I almost lost my Mother Randell Wormley, my only Sister La Porsche Wormley, my Niece Tierah Rich (14 Eliot Arts Magnet ) and my Nephew Kael Hart (8 Altadena Arts Magnet) they were physically there and I was not able to sleep comfortably while knowing they were in possible danger that night. I am so traumatized and my only brother is not capable to help he is still suffering with complications from a diabetic strokes that caused him to go into a coma plus learning he is still battling meningitis and pneumonia currently but it was diagnosed February/March of 2024 and presently lives in a skilled nursing facility in West Los Angeles. I still am fearful about fires possibly going towards his direction.
Watching 4 generations of memories turn to ashes still has me in shambles. Knowing the kids just received Christmas gifts that were still unopened some never unwrapped still under the tree. It’s been rough for us all.
My Sister calling me at 2am screaming, yelling that the backyard is on fire and how it was very intense to be trapped inside burning while trying to navigate children through smoke and fireballs blowing at your face. She told me that our backyard and front entrance was blocked in and on fire already when they were woke up suddenly.
So traumatizing and to have only one way out! Through a sliding glass door at the front of the house in her room luckily.
I literally almost lost my only surviving family and my only brother is not able to help because he is in a skilled facility immobile and non verbal. He cried when we showed videos of the house, his classic cars, his personal car he was gifting his oldest daughter Semaj Wormley, his business HiQulity Paints, his belongings, his children’s memories and belongings. Just ashes and heartbreak.
There was no time to grab any essentials, clothes, or documents. They have absolutely nothing but their lives, dignity, and their vehicles.
I AM SO GREATFUL!!!
AS A FAMILY WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT WE HAVE!!!
Any $ amount of a donation is appreciated. Please help our family of 10 grandchildren and 4 adults regain a life together again, for we are at a total loss.
With your support and donations, we all will be able to buy new clothes, shoes, basic essentials, food. With enough efforts and help assisting with temporary housing for my Mom in Pasadena, and temporary housing for my Sister, Niece, and Nephew.
They have since relocated and now stay with me in a 2 bedroom apartment along with my husband and 5 kids. Until we can afford a new MULTIPLEX FAMILY HOUSE IN THE MEANTIME, UNTIL WE CAN REUNITE AND LIVE AT 3176 N. Olive Ave Altadena CA, 91001 AGAIN.
We appreciate anything, any $ amount at a time. Thank you in advance. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to pray for the others affected as well. Dena Strong!
Much Love - Lauren Wormley-Monroe PHS C/2003
