Vlad has FIP - Help Save Him

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share an important and emotional update about Vlad. After days of testing and uncertainty, he has been diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis)—a serious and often fatal illness caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus. It leads to fluid buildup, extreme lethargy, loss of appetite, and rapid decline if left untreated.

But there’s hope. Thanks to a medication called GS-441524, FIP is no longer a death sentence. Many cats go on to live full, healthy lives with no relapse after completing treatment.

Vlad started treatment yesterday, and I’m already seeing signs of my sweet boy coming back to life. He’s walking around again, drinking water on his own, eating, and even playing a little. After everything he’s been through, watching him perk up again brought me to tears.

That said, the financial burden is… overwhelming.

- His initial emergency care, overnight stay, and diagnosis came to $3,349.85

- His first round of FIP treatment cost $1,281.87

- He will need to be on daily medication for 12 weeks, with a projected total of $3,000–$5,000 more for the rest of his treatment

To be honest, I feel so defeated. I’ve already poured everything I have into saving him, and now that he’s finally getting better, I’m terrified I won’t be able to afford to keep him on treatment.
