Thank you so much for visiting our page! We are the Vigil Family – Cory (age 31), Meagan (age 29), and Madeline (age 10). We’ve been together for 7 years, and married for 2 and half.
As many of you are aware, the journey for us to grow a family has been anything but easy. Infertility is something that neither of us imagined we would have to go through.
For those of you that don’t know our story, here’s a quick summary. Meagan and I hoped to grow our family immediately after getting married, but shortly thereafter we found out we were infertile. We visited 3 different doctors, underwent many tests & examinations, and were continually told the same thing, we had “less than a 5% chance of conceiving naturally”.
In February of 2022, the answers to all our prayers were answered, and we found ourselves pregnant with a beautiful baby boy. Unfortunately, just 4 short months later, he lost his heartbeat due to unknown reasons, and we delivered our stillborn son, Rhett Walker Vigil.
Meagan and I will never fully heal from our loss, but we do feel like the time has come to try growing our family again. After many conversations, and a lot of prayer, we feel in our hearts that God is calling us to adoption. Our endless perseverance is just a testament to our love and commitment to each other and our family.
Many don’t know, but this isn’t where our adoption story begins. Back in 2017, Meagan worked for the Juvenile Dependency Court. Day after day she saw heartbreaking stories of children without parents, and children in foster care. From the moment she started working there, she knew it was for a higher calling. She knew one day, we would grow our family through adoption. It was just a matter of time until I knew it too.
Unfortunately for us, the average adoption cost in California is anywhere between $40,000-$70,000 (home study, adoption profile, legal fees, birth mother medical expenses, etc.) This page is for anyone that wants to be a part of our story and help contribute financially – it’s a vulnerable and hard place for us to ask for help but we appreciate anyone who even takes the time to read our story.
