Gizmo’s Medical Bills

Donation protected
My dear friend lost her baby Gizmo. I have only used gofundme when I needed help after losing Fluffy and Lindsey’s story hit me hard. It seemed so similar to mine and how hard it is to think about having to pay extreme amounts in vet bills after feeling like you’ve lost everything is beyond difficult. Below is her story; Gizmos story:

He was fine that day. We monitored him every day because he was a finicky eater. He was having some issues with constipation and having a lower interest in food that day. So I was keeping a tight eye on him, with an appointment at the vet the next day already set up. Then suddenly he was wobbly in his back legs. So we rushed him to the urgent care. You could tell he was in pain, but didn’t know from what. They ran full blood panels, ultrasound, fluids, oxygen, and the vet came back from the first round and said it wasn’t good. That his blood work showed he had an extremely elevated white blood cell count and extremely low red blood cell count. He was anemic out of no where and in critical condition. She said they saw a mass and free moving fluid/blood in his abdomen and said it was most likely cancer and had probably ruptured that day. That he needed to be transferred to hospital for an emergency blood transfusion to get him stable and to be able to run more tests and imaging and would most likely require surgery and even if all of that went well. There was a 10% chance his condition was even survivable or that he would make it through all of that. We tried everything because I promised him I would ALWAYS fight for him no matter what.

I fought and lost.

It was all so rushed and happened so fast. I didn’t get enough time with him. 11 years is not even close to enough time!

I have so many regrets.

They let me chance it to bring him home so he could be in a comfortable place and let me call my own veterinarian that does at home aftercare. She went out of her way to be at my place before I even arrived home. It was way past her hours, but she went out of her way for him.

I held him, kissed him, sobbed. He left in my arms.

Gizmos story begins as a kitten trapped in dry wall, Lindsey was his savior. This was her first cat and they shared a bond beyond measure. Not only did she give him a life much longer than he would have had but he has saved her everyday since they met. He was a registered Therapy Cat and for anyone who struggles or knows someone who struggles with anxiety/panic attacks knows how valuable our pets can be. He loved to play fetch with straws, dance and be sang to, but most of all his favorite thing to do was snuggle up with his mom.

Please help this family heal by donating to their fund. Any amount counts even a dollar.

The bills are as follows minus one bill because we can’t find it.
