Ebony’s Cancer Journey

In October 2022 we received the heartbreaking news that our eldest daughter Ebony (14) has Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Whilst the outlook on this type of cancer is good, there are still no guarantees and we are preparing for a hectic few months to come.

In August we made a massive move from

Victoria to Townsville. Ebony stayed down in Victoria with her grandparents with the aim of finishing the school year and seeing out the remainder of her dancing in a competitive dance team.

It was only 5 weeks later that Ebony fell ill and we made an emergency trip back down to Victoria.

Our finances are exhausted after such a huge life changing move, then an emergency trip only a short few weeks later and already numerous hospital trips and parking tickets.

We’re hoping to just raise enough to help us get back home to Townsville and anything extra would support any ongoing costs we may occur as part of Ebonys treatment.

Ebony will have a port Catheter surgically placed under her skin in the coming fortnight and begin chemotherapy the day after.

Her treatment will start at Monash Childrens Hospital in Clayton and continue likely at Brisbane where we will fly backwards and forwards every 2 weeks for treatment.

Its also the little luxuries we would love to be able to try and give Ebony with your help. She will loose her hair, so she may want a nice wig, she could do with a better quality mattress when she is likely to spend a great deal of time in bed.

Any donation no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated.

We’re not normally the ones to ask for help, but at the moment it’s extremely over whelming and the financial impact already is stressful.
