Angels for Angie

Hi my name is Melissa. I am fundraising for my sister Angela who is in need of a double lung transplant. Angela has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension in the lungs and also has a shunt (hole) in one of the lungs. Angela was also born with a very severe pectus excavatum (sunken chest) which is crowding both her heart and lungs. Angela's heart is overworking and will eventually give out if she does not have the transplant soon. Fortunately after the transplant the heart should heal itself. In 2016 Angela was put on supplemental oxygen. Over time her condition has worsened and she was put on the double lung transplant list in February of this year. Angela has relocated to Central Florida so she can be close to the Mayo Clinic whenever a donor becomes available. Angela has been a teacher for Escambia County School District for almost 17 years. She started the Cyber Security Academy at Pine Forest High School. She has a passion for teaching and loves all of her students. Angela is looking forward to the day she can return home to her husband, family and students at Pine Forest High. The double lung transplant will be a great financial strain for Angela. All funds raised through GoFundMe will go toward Angela's medical bills, insurance premiums, relocation, travel and food expenses for Angela and any caregivers. Angela will need 24 hour care for three to fours month and maybe longer after the transplant. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
