Hi, my name is Alexis McLaughlin and I am raising money to pay for our pyrenees puppy, Bear to have his leg amputated. A couple of weeks ago a friend of ours reached out in need of some help with a puppy that was dumped on his property in the country. Being the animal lovers that my fiancé and I are, we happily obliged. When we arrived, we noticed that his back left leg was dragging, he had a bad limp, matted fur, fleas, and his hip looked unattached. He was in rough shape. We took him home, got him some meds, bathed him, shaved the matted fur and scheduled a vet visit. We learned that Bear’s leg injury was an old injury and there was a large amount of calcium buildup in his joints. His leg will no longer bend ant the knee like normal and he doesn’t have much feeling at all in the leg. He is the happiest boy and loves to run, so we were advised to amputate the leg to give him a chance to run and play without being dragged down by dead weight and a leg that would get caught on things. We are asking for help to give this sweet boy the life he deserves and should’ve been given from the start.
