Megan's Fight against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hello friends - my name is Karen, and I am raising funds to support my sister-in-law Megan in her battle with breast cancer.
In December of 2023 Meg was bothered by some pain under her arm which she chalked up to muscle soreness from hanging Christmas decorations and the overall work of the holiday season. It persisted into the new year, and after several doctor visits she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer requiring an immediate start on a grueling course of chemotherapy. This course will be followed by another course of chemo, potential radiation, and then surgery. While her current treatment is with local doctors, future surgery will take place several hours from her home adding travel costs to the already burdensome costs of treatment. In addition to these costs, Meg will soon have exhausted her paid time off and will not have any future sick time to take as she is heading into the most difficult part of her treatment. Any time she needs to take off work, whether due to chemo side effects, hospital stays, or recovery time will not be covered by income.
I have known Megan for almost 40 years and I have been lucky to see her grow up from a feisty little girl to a wonderfully caring woman and faithful friend. She is a Keith Urban super fan, a lover of all things Disney, an amazingly talented crafter, a rescuer of stray cats, and a light in the lives of all who know her. She makes this world a better place every day she is here. Megan is a social worker and has spent her entire professional life caring for others - from children and families in need to the elderly in the final stages of life. She cares deeply for her family and friends, always putting others first, never forgetting a birthday or anniversary, always the first in line to help with happy occasions or when the going gets tough. She is a loving partner, daughter, sister, and aunt and I can't imagine how poor this world would be without her.
I am asking for your support and prayers for healing for my beloved friend and sister-in-law. She is one of the strongest people I know, and I have faith she will beat this. I am asking for your help to keep her focus on healing and beating this terrible disease. She is very independent and the last person to ask for help, so I am asking on her behalf. She is not aware (yet) of this fundraiser. Thank you so very much for anything you can contribute to support her in this fight.
