ECAN (T) End Child Abuse and Neglect in Tanzania
Donation protected

Hi, I'm Dr. Steve Mortenson. I have been working with ECAN(T) for two years now and I have seen how they transform and empower young people in Africa, especially girls and women. ECAN(T) hosts youth leadership summits, advocacy training for new mothers, and works with local government leadership to develop and execute policies to better safeguard women and children.
I have worked on two programs with ECAN(T), the first was an intensive two-day seminar in emotional mindfulness, skilled communication, and public speaking. We taught these seminars to over 160 college aged men and women in two different cities.
Our second project was to teach emotional mindfulness, skilled communication, and strategies to combat gender-based violence to 120 high school students and their teachers.
We are hoping to do a third project training high-school teachers, student ambassadors, and parent representatives in emotional management, conflict resolution, and restorative discipline to create a safe learning environment in and outside of school.
The staff of ECAN(T) are all amazing people who endlessly volunteer their time and talent to help young people grow and flourish.
