ECO Short Film Praia Mar

My name is Henrique Ferreira Marques and I want to present my new project entitled “Praia Mar” which is a short film produced by interns from Lisbon. First of all this short film is directed by my internship colleague Ricardo Rebelo, it is a project that tells a story of Rafael’s father, a fisherman who saw his work hampered by litter in the sea.

We are in pre-production of our short film right now and it is an Eco-fiction project. We also believe that this is an innovative idea that will reach international film festivals.

Taking into account that this short film is produced by interns it does not have any budget support. Therefore search for financial support is one of the main keys to make this project come to life.

Man's presence on planet Earth is increasing significantly.

As a result of human action, the planet's natural resources are increasingly at risk. Becoming aware of this fact can be overwhelming when the consequences invade our family space and impact what we take for granted. However, the importance of sustainability is much bigger than what people think, it is much more than a current issue or a fad, it is a reality that effects us all and which could define the future of coming generations, determining the continuity of human life on the blue planet .

"Praia Mar" is a wake-up call through a story about the life of Rafael, our main character, who realizes the financial difficulties his family faces. By spending time on his father’s fishing boat Rafael realises the main cause of this problem is the pollution present in the oceans. It is with Renato, his best friend, that Rafael looks for a solution to his problems, which ends up triggering a search within the work of Rafael's mother, Sandra, a cleaning lady at a soft drink company causing most of the pollution that they pick up while fishing.

They end up breaking in Sandra's work looking for evidences when they enter the CEO's office, they trigger the alarm and forces Rafael and Renato to run home again.
