Economic Activity Analysis - Weddings in NOLA

University of New Orleans's Department of Research and Economics has put together a proposal to provide an Economic Activity Analysis of the Wedding Industry in the New Orleans Metro Area. We are working to secure a sponsor to assist in funding this initiative, but at the cost of $4,557.00 we need additional help from our community. There is currently no data on the economic impact of the wedding industry on the City of New Orleans.  

The study will include the economic activity of private event professionals derived from wedding events during the calendar year 2019. It will also include the economic impact of visitors to New Orleans who were in the city primarily to attend wedding-related events during the same calendar year. The economic activity from both sections will include the additional spending, income, taxes, and jobs created within the local economy due to wedding events. The reports from this analysis, both the industry economic activity and visitor economic impact portions, will certainly help our industry as we recover from the implications of COVID as it may assist in securing funding, sponsorship, or grants needed for our industry.
 
Those that contribute will receive a digital copy of the study upon completion.
