Fundraiser for ECU Baseball Commit Parker Byrd

On June 23rd, Parker Byrd moved into his dorm at East Carolina… ready to fulfill his dream of playing baseball at East Carolina University. A highly recruited infielder, who committed to the Pirates in 2018…. The dude is a Pirate! On Sat July 23, Parker Byrd was involved in a horrible boating accident while tubing with a friend. When he was about to get back into the boat, the motor went from Neutral into gear, and the propellor wrapped around the ski rope, which grabbed Parker and pulled his legs into the prop. Frankly, it is a miracle that he is alive. A tourniquet was applied to one leg, and thankfully a nurse was in an adjacent boat and assisted. He was airlifted to ECU Health in critical condition, his BP in flight was 60/30 due to the trauma…and has been in the ICU since then. He has been thru 7 surgeries up until this point over the last 12 days. The Trauma and vascular surgeons have been working hard to stabilize his condition, decrease pain, fight infection, and preserve any function that they can. I have started this Go Fund Me to allow Pirate ‍☠️ Nation and anyone else to contribute to the family to help offset medical, travel, and hotel bills that have been racking up.. and will continue to do so. We truly don’t know how this recovery will end up… but we do know that we serve an Awesome God… and we believe that he is going thru trials for a reason that we can not comprehend.
