Help for the Harmons

Hi! My name is April Leatherwood, and I am raising funds for my dear friends, the Harmons. I have known Chris and Tinika for going on twenty years, and they are great people! As many of you have probably heard, they are dealing with a lot right now. On August 19th, their oldest son, Addison, who was just starting his senior year of high school, suffered a frontal lobe brain bleed on the right side. He was Care Flighted to Chidlren's Hospital in Dallas, where they successfully inserted a tube into the side of his head to relieve pressure on the brain and allow blood to drain slowly. He was stable, but for safety reasons, they sedated him for five days in an effort to keep the swelling and blood pressure down. An MRI and angiogram were done in an effort to find the cause of the bleeding, but the results of both were inconclusive at the time. Later MRI and CT scans showed that the bleeding had decreased. As of September 5, the tube has been clamped off with the hope that Addison's body will start to absorb the bleeding on its own. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy are being provided to strengthen his body and help to regain movement on his left side. If you cannot afford to donate to this fund, please share it with others who may know the Harmons, and keep Addison and his family in your prayers as he continues to recover and work towards going home and getting back to school to complete his senior year. Chris and Tinika are still trying to work as much as possible, but someone also always has to be with Addison. Because of this, they are rarely home. Most of their time is spent at the hospital or driving to and from work. Addison still has a long road ahead, and this fund will go towards gas, dining out, and hopefully help a little with hospital bills.
