Ed Abrigo's Recovery

Early morning on October 31st, my father fell spontaneously. Ed didn’t have a pulse for 40 seconds and was brought back to life with CPR. He was taken to Barnes, where to this day, they are not able to find to the cause. Two days later, he was found unresponsive. The team found a brain bleed and surgery was performed to remove the clot - not a stroke. He spent over a month in the ICU and is now at an acute care facility. The last day for insurance to cover him was Sunday, January 9.

Ed is a fighter and is continuing to do so during this hard time. As of now, he has cognitive awareness, but is not able to move his extremities.

This Go Fund Me page is for Ed. We are wanting to transfer him to a nursing home to receive the adequate & attentive care he needs until he starts motor function. Once he shows progress, he’ll be transferred to a rehabilitation center where insurance will start to cover expenses again.

Our starting goal is $30,000, but it would be amazing if we could exceed our goal to cover his current and future medical expenses. He has only been accepted to one nursing home so far and it is going to cost around $6,000 a month.
