Dad took his last breath at noon on Friday, Nov. 19th, in Liberal Kansas after a four-week battle in the hospital. Nobody saw this coming. Mom needs our support to relocate her personal belongings to Bakersfield, re-establish a smaller home, and keep up with remaining debts. Mom inherited two vehicles that need work, a house full of stuff in Nevada, and infinitely less support without my Dad.
Dad didn’t spend a lot of time focusing on saving and investing. Instead, Dad spent his time and energy on his friends and everyone that he called family. Money doesn’t solve all problems, and we are still in the early phases of addressing all the things that need attention. If you have the time, skills, and ability or know somebody to help my Mom, please reach out.
-- What happened? --------
My Dad recently started a new job and temporarily relocated to Hugoton, Kansas. Like always, he and Mom made instant friends with everyone they encountered at their new location. Later, Dad got sick with COVID. Recovery was complicated by the onset of pneumonia which only created more complications.
My Dad, this non-stop fighter, was making plans from the ICU bed for what he would do when he got out of there.
- His next job was already lined-up in Texas
- The A/C in his truck needed to get fixed
- The garage in NV still has boxes to unpack
- Finish redesigning the “New Studio” at the NV house
- Enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family
… the list goes on.
