Ed Floyd Physical Therapy
Donation protected
Our Father, Ed Floyd, has been sick for 8 months. He suffered a perforated intestine and went in to septic shock, effecting 3 organ systems. We were told back in February that he had a 30% chance of making it at best. Two surgeries, 5 weeks in the ICU, 3 weeks in the hospital, a blood infection that caused damage to his aortic valve, a series of strokes, and multiple seizures later, he sits cut from Medicare for any rehab therapy or covered skilled nursing stays. Apparently, after 100 days, Medicare says oh well, your time is up, good luck. Ed is too sick to live at home. He is on self pay for the skilled nursing services he requires. He eventually will need heart surgery to replace his aortic valve, but right now he is too weak. He needs to focus on nutrition and therapy to get strong enough to give himself a chance at a longer life. He hasn’t had any physical therapy in a month. He is feeling defeated and his body is becoming more and more atrophied. Paying for physical therapy out of pocket is no easy task.
For those who know my father, he is never one to ask for help. He prides himself on being there for others and helping any way he can. We have put this off for several months, but we are swallowing our pride in an effort to help our father any way we can. We need to get him going on rehab and PT or he doesn’t stand a chance.
Any amount helps, I know my dad has donated to countless GoFundMe’s. The generosity on here never ceases to amaze me. Thank you for reading and at the very least, keep my mother and father in your prayers. They are both sick and too young to be going through this.
Thank You
