Ed Pricola, REMSA Careflight RN, BSN

As many of you have come across, on Friday, February 24th at approximately 9:45pm, Careflight’s PC 12 Fixed-wing aircraft went off radar near Stagecoach, NV. Unfortunately, none of the passengers survived— the pilot, flight paramedic, a patient+family member, and the most devastating news for me, the flight nurse, Ed Pricola.
If you knew Ed personally, you were either a personal friend or family member, a fellow Veteran, a fellow employee at Carson Tahoe Health or at Renown Regional Medical Center, a Crossfit athlete at Double Edge Fitness, and most recently, a fellow crew member with REMSA Careflight.
Ed graduated from UNR-Orvis School of Nursing in May of 2019. He just began his Careflight journey last fall, after working as a charge nurse at Carson Tahoe in the emergency department. He put NP-school on hold, with the determination to learn critical care and apply his knowledge and skills in the field. It’s no surprise that Ed, at 32 years old, was helping others when his life was taken far too soon from all of his loved ones.
Ed leaves behind Lauren, the love of his life of over 12 years, his daughter Riley (4), his son Everett (2), and his golden retriever, Rip.
**After starting this one, I discovered there was a GoFundMe that was already started by his friend, Aaron McCrea. ALL FUNDS RAISED HERE will go to Lauren as the beneficiary.
