Edan’s Recovery & Justice Fund
Edan and his brother Nathanial were victims of a hit and run on May 14th around 9:30pm. They were walking south bound on Harrison Blvd. between 15th and 20th street in Ogden. They heard a vehicle behind them hit the guard rail and Nathanial yelled to jump, but only him and his friend were able to get out of the way with slight contact. Edan was not so lucky. He was struck by the vehicle and hit the guard rail. Edan has a long road ahead of him to recovery. He was taken by ambulance to McKay Dee Hospital and later life flight was called in to transport to Primary Children’s in Salt Lake City.
His teeth are broke and loose, he has multiple broken ribs, some bleeding and bruising in his lungs, road rash from his torso to his ankles, a fractured pelvis and his hip was dislocated and fractured. He has underwent his first surgery to reconstruct his hip. Placing a metal plate, rod and pins in his hip and leg. His mom is with him and says he is resting at this time but in a lot of pain.
Edan is 1 of 7 siblings. He has a heart of gold and is very respectful. His hobbies are scootering, camping and spending time with his siblings and cousins.
As of now, there has been a witness come forward and claim he seen a small dark truck swerve and hit the boys. He then drove off and the witness followed him, but later lost him in traffic. The suspect is a male with long hair.
Speaking to OPD, they stated a headlight was found at the scene and it belongs to a older Mazda pickup, maroon in color from the paint that was on the guard rail.
Edan has insurance, but it doesn’t cover everything. The medical bills are going to pile up and he has a lot of treatment ahead of him. We want justice for him and his brother. Please donate and help relieve some of the burden that thisis going to leave on his family. If you can’t donate, please share and pass it on.
