A group of Learners and Educators, Dreamers and Do-ers, operating as a collective to change the way education works for the better. We invite you to read, follow, support, and join...
We seek to lead change, one group of students at a time, by putting them in the driver's seat of their education. Dreams first!
We will begin with a summer program called "Becoming U!" This program will be the foundation of a year-round Youth Idea Incubator and entrepreneurship program.
- Ideas Incubator (Growth Lab)- Youth grow their ideas with the help of their team. As a collective, we will not only help them supercharge their ideas but walk with them on their journey to making it real. (No one does it alone)
- Feed the People Podcast- Youth will meet inspirational community members who know the way. Through the FtP podcast, they will collect their stories and begin to build their own...
- Financial Literacy, Marketing, & Funding- Don't just make money, manage it. What good is the bag if you don't have a plan? How do I fund my idea? How do I get people interested? How will I eat while I build it? What about donors, sponsors, affiliates, investors, in-kind support, grants, loans, fellowships, partnerships! We'll learn, explore, experiment, and figure it out together!
- The Story of U!- Edarchy requires that everyone always be ready to share their story and show off the impact they intend to make. Show 'em how YOU will Feed the People!
- Participant Facilitated Workshops- Youth will be the producers of knowledge and share with the people in their network. "We've been waiting for you to start the show!" They will bring their knowledge and experiences to the table to help make others better along the way. They will participate in workshops to learn from other Edarchy collective members.
- Networking- It's both what you know and who you know. It's not one or the other. Who's on your contact list? We'll grow that together.
- Celebration- This is an essential part of setting and achieving goals. Build it, celebrate with the people, then build it even bigger. Let's go!
We will continue this work, in partnership with young people, as we will build a new type of educational opportunity that is completely focused on building youth agency so that they can be in the driver's seat of their journey. In the future, we will also develop a training program for professionals who are interested in partnering with youth to build new educational, entrepreneurial, and social service/justice opportunities. We intend to start a revolution in the way our youth are educated.
OUTCOMES
Our ultimate goal is to create an educational blueprint and build an innovative experience where youth and adults partner toward authentic learning!
- Participants will learn what personal agency is and how to use their voice, make their own choices and advocate for their needs, to make their dreams reality.
- Participants will create and or expand their network to at least 7 individuals who can help support them on their journey
- Participants will create a written plan for Cycle 2, by the end of Cycle 1
- Participants will create a well-developed proposal and deliver a presentation to an audience of at least 10 interested parties who will provide critical feedback on their work
- Participants will provide a reflection interview at the end of Cycle 1 as a way of documenting their experience in the program
- Participants will have fun! In addition to reflection interviews, program evaluation surveys will be issued at the end of each cycle to gather data about youth and adult experiences.
"What will my donation support?"
Edarchy has identified a missing component in the current educational and vocational services for youth. That missing element? Youth choice and their dreams. Most current schools predominantly create student success and failure based on a student's navigation of the rules and structures associated with the "already chosen for you" education dynamic.
How are we making this change?
- Partnerships with young people, as we will build a new type of educational opportunity that is completely focused on building youth agency so that they can be in the driver's seat of their journey.
- Develop a training program for professionals who are interested in building with youth new educational, entrepreneurial, and social service opportunities.
- Start a revolution in the way our youth are educated.
