EDAW 2020 - ED training

I am raising money to fund the writing and presentation by one Beat's clinicians of a specialist training day on eating disorders within the equestrian industry.
The 2nd to the 8th March this year will be Eating Disorder Awareness Week and as a recovered sufferer I am passionate about raising awareness about this increasingly common mental illness. I realised that there are many potential triggers within the equestrian industry that could increase the chances of an individual developing an eating disorder.
Eating disorders affect over 1.25 million people in the UK and hospital admissions have risen sharply from just over 7,000 in 2010-11 to just over 19,000 in 2018-19.
I want to improve the education and training around eating disorders, particularly within the equestrian industry, so that with more awareness people can identify potential sufferers and earlier intervention leads to earlier treatment and a better chance of recovery.

I want to raise enough money going forward to subsidise the attendance fee for one of these training days, the more money I can raise the more subsidies I can give and the more training days I can hold across the UK.

An eating disorder is a life threatening, lonely illness that affects not just the sufferer but those around them, they are not spoken about enough and are commonly misunderstood.
