Eddie Lerma's Memorial Fund

Donation protected
Hi my name is Annette and I am raising funds/donations on behalf of the Lerma Family for my Cousin, Eddie Frank Lerma who was like the brother I never got to have. To his family he was referred to as "Frankie" as a sign of affection. Eddie Frank's life was taken too soon after  battling COVID at the young age of 40. For all who were blessed to personally know Eddie Frank, you would understand what a remarkable young man, father, husband, son, grandson, brother, cousin, and friend he was to all he encountered. Eddie was a former Machinist's Mate for the US Navy and took great pride in serving his country. Eddie was definitely one of God's children. He served as a church leader who helped in the children’s ministry, security team and on the prayer team. Everyone knew Eddie as a well collected leader who didn't judge and that they could trust him with anything. The world and our family lost a remarkable young man, but we will always remember the fond memories and love he brought into our lives.

Words are extremely hard to come by during this difficult time, but hopefully this tribute below is as close as it can be to describe the wonderful qualities Eddie displayed in the relationships he had with his family and friends.

To his Mom and Dad- Eddie Frank served as a son who loved and respected them both with all his heart.

To his Grandparents- Eddie Frank would serve as the loving and respectful grandson. From a young child to his early adult years he was ALWAYS there to be of service to his Grandparents. I truly believe these relationships helped form Eddie Frank to be the well rounded man he was going to become in his own family someday.

To his four sisters and younger brother- Frankie served as the big brother, a best friend, a rock to lean on, and always looking out for the well being of his younger siblings.

To his wife Adriana, he served as the loving husband who wanted to make his wife live a comfortable and joyful life. All he wanted to do was to take care of her and provide for her and their family. Another way he showed his love for Adri was by taking in his Mother-In-Law to live with them.

To his first daughter Yajaira- He served as her Daddy who'd love her with every fiber of his being. Yajaira was Eddie's and Adri's first born child. While Eddie was deployed overseas Yajaira was born. When the Navy ship he was deployed on came to port in San Diego he got to meet and hold her for the first time. That moment was very special to him.

To his second daughter Lucy- He served as Daddy to her. Eddie(and Adri)chose the name Lucy after Eddie Frank's Nana/Grandma from his Dad's side of the family. Eddie had a deep love and respect for his Nana Lucy and felt it would be a great honor to name his second daughter after her.

To his son Donovan- He served as his Dad who would love and guide him. Eddie felt blessed to already have two daughters and then finally to be blessed with a son to do male bonding with. Eddie loved taking time to spend with Donovan to do things that they both enjoyed doing together. From building exquisite Lego sets to going out for some good bites to eat. A Dad who would shower his three children for all his days, with unconditional love and support. A Dad who even though can’t be seen, will always be felt, standing beside them as they take on the world.

To his friends- Eddie was selfless, putting others needs first before his own. He would be the first to rush to his friends' side in their time of need, but never expect anything other than friendship in return.

To me- Frankie, was the brother I never got to have being I am an only child. We shared many fond memories together growing up as kids and into our adult years. He always made me feel protected, and deeply loved. God blessed me to have such a loving and caring person such as Frankie to have as my cousin.

You are very much missed by all those that love you Eddie Frank Lerma. Go with God and be in eternal peace. Until we reunite with you again in the heavens we will look over your family and always remind your children how wonderful of a man you were. And how lucky are they to call you their Dad.

On the behalf of Adriana & family, we'd like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to those who were supportive throughout this difficult time for Eddie's family. From the prayers that were sent above to even the private plane ride that was set up for Donovan to be able to get to his Dad on his final days. God bless each and everyone of you.

All donations received through this GoFundMe will go directly towards any expenses that accumulated from Eddie's medical expenses. Along with helping Adriana, Yajaira, Lucy, and Donovan as they are starting out their new life without having Eddie being the sole provider for his family. Eddie worked very hard to take care of his family, so let's make sure we can honor Eddie Frank by helping take care of his family.
