Eddie is Moving for Marni!!! ❤️

Most of you all know a bit about Marnis story, i don’t want to go into detail as it is Marni’s story to tell not ours. But the result of which means that Marni at 15 has had to have an above the knee left leg amputation and has been in London, Great Ormond Street Hospital, for over 2 and a half months now. Marni has worked sooooo hard to prepare herself both physically and mentally for this massive operation, already completing a 2 year long physio programme travelling back and forward from GOSH weekly. Every step of the way has been painful for Marni in fact every step of Marni’s entire life has been taken living in constant pain which has become progressively worse since birth. What i have seen this young girl go through the few days i have been allowed to stay with her in hospital i literally cannot put into words. It would make most grown adults crumble. She has squeezed my hand so tight in an effort to try and cope with her suffering and i have watched her go through and endure complications that are extremely difficult to watch so i simply cannot even begin to imagine how they must actually feel for her. She is being put through so much while being in unimaginable pain but she has never ever given up. No matter how tired she is from little to no sleep and endless days of physio she never ever quits! She has never even moaned about it, about how unfair it is, because it is……but she just cracks on. No matter how much it hurts she still keeps on working, day in, day out. This girl is quite literally my hero! ❤️ This is not the end of Marni’s journey this is the beginning she still has years of rehab and physio ahead of her with the end goal being a prosthesis but right now the goal is to learn how to walk again with her residual limb, (her stump that has been lovingly named by Marni as ‘ilton’) ❤️ and to get home as soon as adaptations that should have been made years ago, have been done for her.
Those of you who know Eddie know he faces his own daily struggles and battles. Co ordination and stamina are his absolute nemesis, doing any sort of sporting activity is extremely hard for him but he has decided he wants to dedicate his summer holidays to doing a 5000 metres in 4 weeks sponsored swimming challenge, starting on the 1st August ready to be completed by the 28th. This is to help raise money for his big sister to allow her to access whichever suitable disability aids and transport she requires, (now and ongoing) and whatever else she needs along her way, instead of having to fight for everything at every turn like they have been doing for years. So many things could help make Marnis life that little bit easier, the NHS do their best but it is so heartbreaking watching how hard this girl works and watching her having to just ‘make do’. She needs disability aids that work for her not just whatever is available. It is soul destroying watching her and her mum having to fight for absolutely EVERYTHING she needs in order to be able to live her life, even down to suitable transport for hospital appointments, of which there have been and still are many! They have a big enough fight on their hands as it is and Eddie really wants to do something to help the people that have helped him the most with his own personal and daily struggles. Eddie attempting any sporting activity is really not something that comes easily to him and after he was involved in a serious car crash four years ago he also suffers from chronic back pain, but he knows and understands that it is not as difficult for him to do this as it is for Marni to do the things in life that most of us take for granted every single day.
I am really proud of Eddie for wanting to take this challenge on and for wanting to help his big sister in the only way that he can right now. No matter what Marni has been going through herself she has always been there for him and has helped him overcome so much. This is his way of helping her back and saying thank you for everything she has done for him these past difficult years. Marni has and still is doing all the hard work. All this girl has ever known is pain but she never stops and she keeps on pushing herself every single day ❤️ she honestly blows my mind! All we want to do is let her know that she is not on her own and help a little bit with the only part of the battle that we can actually try to help with ❤️ I have put the target amount to raise as £5000 as in all honesty i really had no idea what amount to enter and i mean, if eddie can raise £1 per metre he would be absolutely chuffed to bits!!!! ❤️ All i know is none of this stuff is cheap and the need for these things is ongoing. She has been left to work with whatever the NHS can afford to part with which we all know is not a lot, so whatever amount we can raise is going to help in every aspect of this amazing girls life, now and in the future ❤️
Eddie would be so pleased with any little donation, anything at all would be greatly appreciated. Every single penny of it would go towards helping an inspirational young lady on a long, difficult and painful journey who no matter what she is going through in life is always thinking of others. She has helped me and my son so much, in ways that she probably doesn't even realise herself and she has never ever asked for anything in return. We love you Marni, we appreciate you and we are so proud of EVERYTHING you have achieved! You have worked so hard! You are the strongest person i know and i am so excited to watch you grow and glow! ✨ coz thats what you do girl you glow! ✨❤️✨ xxx
