Hi Friends, Morgan here. I know you all have been waiting on some updates on my Dad's condition. I don't want to give out too much of his medical information on the internet. But I want to share some general information. Cody and I are trying our best to keep up with all of the messages. Is dad famous? Man, he sure has A LOT of friends! So I'll be posting some updates as we have them, on this page.
Sunday night 1/7 Dad was admitted to the ER because he was dizzy and slurring his speech. Doctors pretty quickly discovered that there was an infection in a wound on his foot, that had spread to the rest of his body through his blood. They removed the area that they believed was causing the infection and started him on antibiotics. He is currently on dialysis while he continues to fight the infection in his body and his brain. For now they are keeping him sedated. We've received mixed reviews from the doctors. In a lot of ways he is looking better, But he still has a fight ahead of him before he is in the clear. They are starting him on different antibiotics today and we are hoping to see some change soon. Cody and I have been by his side since he was admitted. He's not going through this alone.
We ask that if you want to come visit him you please reach out to us first. He is currently limited on the number of visitors he can have.
My dad is the kindest, most giving person I have ever met. He will go out of his way to help anyone, at any length, and never ask for anything in return. How many of you have ever had Eddie help you move a couch? Or rescue you because your car broke down? How many have ever been given food by my dad? He loves to feed people. I'm pretty sure we all have something in our freezer from Eddie. Has he delivered you firewood? or sat with you for hours regaling you with his fish stories? My dad is the biggest personality in the room, loves to dance, and has never met a stranger he couldn't turn into a friend. All he's ever wanted to do is help.
My dad needs your help now. He needs your love and prayers. He needs your kind words, stories, and music recommendations. And if you can donate a little, that's appreciated too. I've started this gofundme to soften the blow of expenses when he starts his recovery journey. I know my dad would never ask for money. He never has. But he's always shown up when you've needed him. The only thing my dad is afraid of more than snakes, is medical bills. My goal is to help cover some of the initial medical bills and set him up for some aftercare. If you have ever personally benefitted from my dad's kindness and generosity, Here is the opportunity to show your appreciation.
What I want most of all is for you to go hug your dad. Or any dad if you don't have one readily available. Or hug your dog, I'm okay with that too.
How do you know Eddie? We would love for you to leave him stories! I'll be sure to read them to him.
Thank you!
Eddie, Morgan, and Cody
