Eddie is awake and working hard on recovery. He spent over a month in a medically induced coma. After many different tests and treatments he has been diagnosed with Autoimmune Encephalitis. Which is a very rare disease that involves issues with the immune system and inflammation in the brain. He is still struggling with neuropathy and in rehabilitation to get up and moving again. UPDATE 5/18/24
Eddie has remained in a medically induced coma for the last few weeks. He has started responding to the most recent treatment. The Quezada family is seeking specialists and preparing for a possible transfer. They can not take any visitors at this time.
We met the original goal of $10,000 for the Quezada family, but due to the intensity of Eddie's condition we have changed our fundraising goal to $25,000. The Quezada family is so thankful for the help that they have received from family, friends, and the community.
A prayer service has been set up for Eddie on May 19 at 5pm in the Hillcrest (main campus Utica location) chapel. Praying and believing for a miraculous recovery for Eddie.
End update.
*******************************
Eddie is currently in the ICU and has been put into a medically induced coma due to extensive seizures with unknown causes. He is currently on a ventilator. This incident happened without warning and the Quezada family is in-between insurance providers. They are in need of funds to help pay for medical bills as well as any other services Eddie may end up needing.
Eddie is a brand new dad with a small baby at home. He is a great husband, father, and friend. He's active in his church and community. If anyone deserves help and support in a time like this it is him and his family.
