Eddie Verhoff's Memorial Fund

Donation protected
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Eddie Verhoff, who passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, November 12th, 2022. On behalf of the AFD Family, a memorial has been set up for Ed's wife, Kim, son EJ (14), and Liam (10). He was a beloved husband to Kim and a loving father to his two sons EJ, and Liam. He touched the lives of many, and his work never went unnoticed. His dedication to the success and safety of the members of AFD was constant. Ed rose through the ranks of the executive board quickly to his current role as VP. His firm belief and steadfast work with organized labor were one of the cornerstones that Ed believed in. He frequented IAFF conventions and various classes and worked with the local Albany Labor federation. His hours given to the union's betterment are countless.
Ed shared his love of Boy Scouts with his two sons by leading as a Scoutmaster at Boy Scout Troop 1083. EJ and Liam were following in his footsteps to become Eagle Scouts, which Ed was very proud of. Ed was also a Hibernian, the 14th ward leader in Albany, and was heavily involved in the Albany County Democratic committee.
Ed’s current assignment to the Rescue Squad, stationed at the Arbor Hill Fire Station, on C platoon, was his last assignment in his 16 year Fire Department career. Anyone that worked with Ed knew they were going to laugh. He loved the firehouse and loved the guys he worked with.
Ed’s true loves and passion were his wife and two sons; Kim, Edward “EJ”,and Liam. These funds will help cover the financial burden during this unexpected time of loss and help set up college funds for both EJ and Liam.
Thank you so much for your love and support for the Verhoff Family. Please share this link with anyone looking for ways to help.
