Support Eddie's Surgery!

Hey friends! As you may know, Eddie DeHais is undergoing an intense gender-affirmation chest-reconstruction surgery on Thursday, June 14th! We are all so excited :) This is an important step for them, and a long time coming, and your support would mean the world to them in terms of helping make the rest of their life possible!!!
Unfortunately, their surgery comes with quite a price tag and because of the recovery time, Eddie won't be able to work for a few weeks (they've actually had to turn down some job offers in July/August that were too movement-intensive). On top of this, they are gearing up to move to Providence in early August, and unable to save up during their recovery time.
The largest impact your donation will have is going directly to helping pay for their surgery. The American healthcare system is no joke when it comes to cost. This procedure will allow Eddie to start grad school in a body that matches their gender! Everyone deserves that. This will also allow them to legally change their name and afford all the paperwork that comes with getting all new IDs and documentation.
Your donations will also help cover costs of living during their recovery period: Rent, bills, food, and day-to-day expenses. For up to two weeks, Eddie will be stuck in bed and then for almost two months, they will not be able to move or lift more than 10-20lbs. Note: Eddie's cat Baby is 23lbs and can't be picked up all summer :*(
Finally, any additional costs we raise over the $5,500 goal will support Eddie's big move to the East Cost. Getting this surgery done before they embark on this journey is hugely important to them, but it also means that saving up will be incredibly difficult. Your donations will contribute to this massive move across the country!
Any amount helps! Even if you can only pitch in $10-$20, it will go a long way. This surgery is right around the corner, so achieving our fundraising goal will take a huge stress off of all of our minds, so that we can focus on Eddie's full recovery.
