Eden Village of Wilmington in honor of Joey Biaso

Tax deductible
On October 25, 2021 Joseph Thomas Biaso III (Joey) found peace.

Joey believed no one should be hungry or have to sleep outside. He always said that throughout life everyone experiences hardships, some harder than others. He believed some people can overcome these hardships, but others need help. To him, everyone had their own personal story and deserved help, respect and dignity. He dreamed of creating a community for homeless and disabled people, where they could afford to live, get help, and thrive.

Joey was born in a different generation than his heart beat in. Although he was a Beatles fan and a hippie at heart, Joey also lived in the future – in a place where people were all the same, no matter the color of their skin, the amount of money in their bank accounts, or the condition of their clothes… Joey saw people for the absolute best inside of them and touched everyone he met in a profound way. He worked with indigenous people to build housing in Nicaragua; he built computer infrastructure systems in Central America; he befriended monkeys in Costa Rica; and so much more.

To say Joey traveled the world is an understatement. He wasn’t a tourist and never stepped foot on a resort. Joey hopped on a plane, immersed himself in the culture, befriended local people, donated his time, and changed the world just a little bit in: Greece, Peru, Panama, Italy, Costa Rica, India, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, and more. He did the same in the US from New York to California… and many places in between. Joey found peace on October 25, 2021.

Eden village is building a 32-unit tiny home community specially designed to provide permanent homes for chronically homeless individuals including patients of the local hospital. Many patients of the medical center experience chronic illness, which are treatable but require consistent living circumstances to improve treatment results. A home is an essential component to long-term health care for these individuals and a proven, permanent solution to chronic homelessness.

Eden Village of Wilmington imagines a city where no one sleeps outside, just as Joey envisioned! Please donate in his honor to help end homelessness.
