Edgewood Cheer Team Needs Your Support

We need your help & support for a new program that is being offered to the students at Edgewood Junior High School. First, we would like to send out a huge thank you to Lacie Axsom, Becca O’Grady, and the school administration for providing this opportunity. The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students have their very first competitive cheer team in the history of Edgewood. This is due to utmost belief in these student-athletes, along with the continuous effort they are giving each and every day. This past weekend, the team competed in their first event. The results were outstanding: 1st in their division, Best Cheer Award, along with overall Grand Champion for their group. The goal is to continue to get better each time out and build on this early success. Like many things, practice makes perfect. This is where your support could really help these students. Currently, due to lack of gym mats in our home gym, the athletes are using another local school’s facilities to train and practice. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase our own mats to be used at Edgewood Junior High itself. This will allow them to put in the work needed on their own floor, while also providing the opportunity to show off their skills to a home crowd at events. Edgewood School Corporation has already gifted a very generous amount to help support this program. We are trying to raise the remaining funds to reach our goal.
