PLEASE READ UPDATES!! I’ve been very private about my wife Edina’s battle with stage 4 breast cancer and cancer of the lymph nodes but tonight I’m asking for as many prayers as her family, my family, myself and most of all our children who can no longer see her due to severe panic/anxiety attacks due to her appearance and condition and most of all for her as she is now at the end stages of her battle and can no longer walk, barely even drink water from a spoon due to not being able to swallow which has limited her to liquid only pain medication (which is not long acting like an extended release pill) which makes her have to take large doses of instant release pain medication to even dull a little of the pain which is one of the few words she can even say now “im hurting” as she is no longer coherent barely able to open her eyes,hallucinating, moaning every breath in pain. She fought this horrible disease over 2 1/2 years with multiple major surgeries her latest at the end of July, did constant chemotherapy and tried every chemotherapy, radiation, and even all the New trials that Vanderbilt University Hospital came up with which were at times multiple times a month she fought all the way and continues to fight to cling to what little life she has left. I’m heartbroken as are both families and our children of the condition she’s in. Tonight I ask for prayers for all of us and we pray the lord relieves her pain but still gives us as much time with her as possible. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are unfortunately asking for privacy and no visitors at this time as she’s highly susceptible to any virus however once again we ask for your prayers that the lord will relieve her pain but also give us more time with her. Also once again we request prayers for both families and most of all our children who are completely devastated as my oldest son Dino said crying “dad it’s not fair that mom is dying of cancer at 36 years old. Why is this happening to us?” Which is heartbreaking for me as well. When she was first diagnosed it was all because of a little lump that she let go for months thinking “oh it’s nothing” as any of us would in your thirties but ladies don’t be ashamed or afraid to get checked regularly it could save your life and your family a lot of heartbreak. I promised her from day 1 of diagnosis I would be there for her to the very end which we thought would be cured but I’m still here for her as promised. I also would like to thank all of the family that is caring for her as we speak as she elected not to go to hospice house but remain home with her family and it’s VERY HARD to help a family member be it a mother , father, sister, brother, or grandparent and watch them go through this awful time and there’s nothing you can do but hold her hand talk to her and pray as it takes a HUGE mental toll on all of us. I apologize for such a long post but several people have called daily wanting updates and I have not updated on Facebook Or gofundme.com on her condition for some time. Please Please Pray! Thank you all for the prayers Edina is no longer suffering as she passed away moments ago. 9-19-1984 to 10/17/2020. You were truly loved until the end. My heart is truly broken as well as our children’s but you can finally stop suffering. The family requests privacy at this time to mourn. Thank you all for the prayers and thank you all for respecting our privacy as we mourn.
