Edina Welsh Sauer & Kristy Gayle Joeckel Memorial

Hi, I am Kay Hull Phillips, RL Turner Class of 1981 President and long-time friend of Edina Welsh Sauer & Kristy Gayle Joeckel. While many of you might have heard that Edina recently passed away, you may not know that Edina suffered from Huntington's Disease, a rare and fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. Our beloved 1981 classmate Kristy Gayle Joeckel also suffered from HD and passed in 2016.

A GoFundMe Memorial to benefit Huntington's Disease Society of America has been created in their honor.
