Hello everyone, my name is Edna Chavez. I am in need of financial support because I was unjustly fired by the City of Denver for speaking up against the treatment and conditions of immigrants who were staying at the city's shelters.

I was hired by the City of Denver to provide support for recently arrived immigrants in Denver. My coworkers and I heard that a group of immigrants were being poorly fed at one of the City's holding facilities so we decided to send better-quality meals to this facility.

Unfortunately, one of the supervisors at the facility refused to take in the food which was coming directly from the City of Denver. Following that interaction, I reached out to my supervisor to create awareness about the situation but no action was taken. I was upset and disappointed by the lack of action and urgency around the situation so I decided to speak out to the press about it.

A couple of days later, I received a call from the City of Denver informing me that I was fired. I also received a formal letter from the City confirming my firing.

I am a college student at Colorado State University (CSU) and I was hoping to earn $2000 to cover my education-related expenses by working for the City of Denver by supporting immigrants like me.

Following my unjust firing, I am struggling to pay for my college tuition so I am in need of support. Thank you for taking the time to read about my situation and I hope you consider donating to support my education.

Hola a todos, mi nombre es Edna Chavez. Necesito apoyo financiero porque la ciudad de Denver me despidió injustamente por denunciar el trato y las condiciones de los inmigrantes que se alojaban en los refugios de la ciudad.

Fui contratada por la ciudad de Denver para brindar apoyo a los inmigrantes recién llegados a Denver. Mis compañeros de trabajo y yo escuchamos que un grupo de inmigrantes estaban siendo mal alimentados en una de las instalaciones de recepcion de la Ciudad, por lo que decidimos enviar comidas de mejor calidad a esta instalación.

Desafortunadamente, uno de los supervisores de la instalación se negó a aceptar la comida que venía directamente de la ciudad de Denver. Después de esa interacción, contacté a mi supervisor para crear conciencia sobre la situación, pero no se tomó ninguna medida. Estaba molesta y decepcionada por la falta de acción y la urgencia en torno a la situación, así que decidí hablar con la prensa al respecto.

Un par de días después, recibí una llamada de la Ciudad de Denver informándome que estaba despedido. También recibí una carta formal de la Ciudad confirmando mi despido.

Soy un estudiante en la Universidad Estatal de Colorado (CSU) por sus siglas en ingles y esperaba ganar $2000 para cubrir mis gastos relacionados con la educación trabajando para la ciudad de Denver apoyando a inmigrantes como yo.

Después de mi despido injusto, estoy luchando para pagar mi matrícula universitaria, por lo que necesito apoyo. Gracias por tomarse el tiempo de leer sobre mi situación y espero que considere donar para apoyar mi educación.
