SUPPORT THE SAMBAXÉ 2024 CARNAVAL CONTINGENT!
Donation protected
After months of rehearsals, Sambaxé dancers will share their passion for Brazilian culture on Sunday, May 26th in the annual San Francisco Carnaval Parade! Held in the Mission District, it’s the largest multi-cultural celebration on the West Coast.
Our goal is to raise $5000 to fund Sambaxé's participation in this year’s parade.
Your donation will:
* assist with group participation expenses (ex: sound system rental)
* subsidize individual participation for youth members
* subsidize individual participation for adult members who need financial assistance
Inclusivity is at the heart of Carnaval and Sambaxé founder, Raffaella Falchi, is determined that no one is turned away if they don’t have the funds. Your donation is critical to keeping the culture and traditions of Carnaval alive and accessible in our community!
In 2022 and 2023, Sambaxé was crowned San Francisco Carnaval’s 1st Place Winners in the Brazilian Category, and with your help, we are excited to perform again this year! No donation is too small in supporting our cultural celebration.
We invite you to support us at the parade on Sunday, May 26th!
With love, gratitude and Axé,
Sambaxé
Sambaxé (Sam-Ba-Shay) is a Brazilian-inspired music & dance company based in San Francisco. This year we celebrate 17 years of dance classes, percussion classes, performances, and music and dance retreats.
Sambaxé’s theme for 2024 is “Waves of Love” revolving around Afro-Brazilian Orixa (deity) Oxum - Mother of Gold, goddess of divinity, femininity, fertility, beauty and love. Gold/yellow is her color, which is associated with Abundance, Fortune and Royalty.
Sambaxé is an all-inclusive contingent across gender, age and economic class. We are a majority-female contingent composed of fierce, strong, beautiful women and Sambaxé is full of "Rainhas Poderosas" or "Warrior Queens!
