Educate refugee children for a brighter future

Lebanon, which is already experiencing an unprecedented economic crisis, has taken in around 1.5 million Syrian refugees since the refugee crisis began in 2011 and now has the highest concentration per capita of refugees in the world. The majority of refugees are in the Bekaa Valley, where they are forced to live in substandard shelters (such as tents and warehouses), face serious restrictions in obtaining healthcare, are at increased risk of mistreatment and exploitation, and more than half of children are not receiving formal education.
I will soon be heading to the Bekaa Valley to volunteer with Salam LADC (Lebanese Association for Development and Communication), an amazing non-governmental organisation that supports Syrian refugees through direct aid and educational programs, as well as strengthening intercommunity dialogue (between Lebanese and Syrian communities) and facilitating the efforts and initiatives of independent volunteers and organisations.
I am raising money for Salam LADC and affiliate projects, which I plan to distribute as needed on the ground during my time in Lebanon. For example, to buy basic equipment (such as stationery) and educational materials for the local education centre run by Salam LADC (where I’ll be helping to run classes) or by supporting projects such as Project Noah (focused on educating children about flood safety) and The Free Shop (a pop-up clothes store where everything costs £0).
Please note that absolutely no funds raised will be used for me personally (e.g. airfare, rent, subsistence) and I will provide updates on how and where I spend the funds for full transparency (and I hope for your own curiosity too!).
Many thanks in advance for your consideration and generosity. Any amount will be hugely appreciated! Please also share with your friends/family or through social media :)
