Hi everyone, meet Katherine! I have chosen to assist Katherine with fundraising for her acceptance into the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF). Katherine is extraordinarily bright beyond her years and has been awarded numerous academic achievements! HELP ME GET HER TO NYLF!!!
Katherine is a Black-American Asian who was born in Hong Kong in 2010. Katherine and her Filipina mother immigrated to Roanoke, Virginia in September 2017, where I met them shortly after. I was highly impressed with Katherine’s warm personality and eagerness to learn. She deserves this educational opportunity.
The form will take place at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro from July 18 – July 23, 2021. Katherine will have the chance to delve into the world of medicine, discover how to program robots, and explore forensic science. She will gain valuable insight into critical thinking, communications, and basic life skills.

Jovena, Katherine’s mother, has shared with me that she is working and praying that Katherine will be the first Black-American Asian female to be a Rhode Scholar at Oxford University in England.
