Christopher Chamberlin’s Journey: A Plea for Help

I reach out to you with a heart full of hope and vulnerability, seeking your compassion and support.

My name is Christopher Chamberlin, a disabled student at The Los Angeles Film School, dedicated to my studies with unwavering resolve. I am in my second month of my second year, proudly holding a 4.0 GPA. Yet, the road ahead is steep, and I cannot walk it alone.

I urgently need financial assistance to continue my education and acquire essential safety equipment. This equipment is vital to protect my fragile back and to prevent a daunting surgical procedure—a multi-level laminectomy that would remove bone from my vertebrae. Already, I have endured the agony of two disk replacements in my neck. Last August, a severe medical emergency left me teetering on the brink, having lost nearly 45% of the blood in my body. The aftermath saw my weight plummet from 240 lbs to 172 lbs in just four months.

But my struggles extend beyond my own pain. I am a father to children with profound needs. One of my precious children battles global developmental delays and life-threatening birth defects. My other children are on the autism spectrum, each day presenting new challenges and triumphs.

Completing my education is more than a personal milestone—it is a lifeline. A degree will enable me to secure a career that accommodates my physical limitations, ensuring I can provide for my family and be present for my children. However, some of the medical treatments I require are not covered by insurance, adding another layer of financial strain.

As if these trials were not enough, we now face the heartbreaking reality of losing our home, with only 90 days to find a new place to live. The weight of this uncertainty bears heavily upon us.

I humbly ask for your support. Your donations will not only fund my education and medical treatments but also provide my family with stability and hope. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to a future where we can breathe easier and face the world with renewed strength.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation. Your kindness means the world to us.

With deepest gratitude,
Christopher Chamberlin
