I am a determined individual on a mission to rewrite my story and pursue my dreams. After facing numerous obstacles and challenges, I have decided to return to college and finish the film production degree I started 25 years ago. With a passion for languages, cultures, and music, I am eager to dive into the Study Abroad program and expand my horizons even further.
Despite the doubts and negativity I have faced from the men in my life, I am determined to prove them wrong and show that housewives can achieve more than society expects. By obtaining a Dual Degree with a Minor, I am taking control of my future and refusing to be limited by outdated expectations.
As I embark on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment, I am seeking support from those who believe in my potential. By raising funds for my education, you can help me achieve my goals and inspire other women to break free from societal norms. Together, we can challenge the beliefs that have held women back for too long and empower them to pursue their passions.
Join me in rewriting the narrative and supporting each other on our journey towards success. Together, we can defy expectations, overcome obstacles, and achieve our dreams. Are you my people? Let's rewrite our stories together.
Earning a higher education for me is make it or break it. In 1987, my father died landing me in the statistic for families never having the opportunity to achieve higher education. In 1997, I was blessed with a football scholarship for filming where I started my film production program and being the reason, the coaches brought in a 2nd scholarship. I left before completing the degree because of health issues and bad choices in men. I attended a private college for one semester with the hopes of earning my family’s love and finding my place in this world. My second groom forbade me from returning to college because his ideals of a live-in slave continued for many years until he let me earn a degree of his choice to another college without his permission. Divorcing him allowed me to grow up with courage, love, and faith, giving me the last opportunity to seek the dream I started 27 years ago. When people ask me what lays beyond, I can share my greatest desire is to earn a degree in higher education. This is the first choice in life I have had the courage to fight for the goal line. Few wanted college for me, few believed in me, but here I am so close to finishing. I have lost property, family and friends, but this higher education is the only thing that I have earned that no man can steal from me.
