Education costs in Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy

Hi, my name is Dianne Porter and I have signed up to study for a Cert 4 in Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy at my own expense. I need to pay my fees and I am short of the nearly $5000 I need. I have $3000 so need the remaining $1800 to cross the line. I am often the person funding others and funding projects like the Jammalong Music Project and Canberra Christian Writers Group publications. This time I need a little help if you can give me a hand.

A number of my fiends are suffering serious life threatening illnesses and I want to walk beside them to the end of the road. I have a lot of skills through my nursing training and welfare studies in my past but not skills in Pastoral Care specifically and I am not a Chaplain. Having these skills will help me negotiate the institutional needs of Hospitals and Palliative Care organisations in a manner that respects all the stakeholders involved and helps me know how to cause the least harm. I would like to be able to give my friends Holy Communion when they cannot get to church any longer. Its these specialist skills I would like to have so I can give my best to those I love and to others who come to my attention. In Canberra I have found there is a shortage of Chaplains able to do home visits and visits to hospital and I am feeling angry and sad about the plight of those I care for. Suddenly the door for me to study opened and I want to walk through it. Your gift will help me do that.
