Safari Dreams: Family Business & Education Fund

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Debbie and I am fundraising for Moagi Rain Robson and his family. Robson is a proud bushman from the vast expanse of the Kalahari in Botswana, Africa. For over 18 years, he has led safaris as a tracker and guide in both the Kalahari and the Okavango Delta, unraveling the secrets of these pristine ecosystems. Now, he and his wife, DK, also a skilled guide, are embarking on a new adventure—they are starting their own safari company to share the magic of the land they know so well. I have had the honor of going on two mobile safaris with Robson, one when he was working for a safari company (the photo of Robson and me is from this trip), and one about 6 months ago during his first safari trip with his own company, Tracks of Old Safari.

The Challenge: As they tread into the uncharted territories of entrepreneurship, the initial steps are laden with challenges. The off-season, particularly the first year, brings financial strains. Yet, Robson and his wife persevere, driven by a dream to share the wonders of both the Kalahari and Okavango Delta landscapes with the world.

The Ask: I am reaching out to you to lend a helping hand during this crucial period. The funds raised will primarily go towards keeping a roof over their heads, purchasing mobile safari equipment, and securing an education for Robson and his wife's three daughters. Education is not just a dream for them; it's a beacon of hope, a path to a brighter future.

Where Your Support Goes:
1. School Fees: Ensure that the girls continue their education uninterrupted.
2. Educational Materials and Transportation: Provide books, uniforms, and supplies.
3. Household Expenses: Alleviate the financial strain on the family during the business's initial phase.
4. Mobile safari camping equipment - tents, linen, safari beds, food prep supplies and satellite phones

Any additional funds over the goal will go towards major items such as a safari vehicle, back up vehicle and trailer.

Why Support?
• Preserving Cultural Heritage: Robson is not just a guide and tracker; he is a custodian of the Kalahari and Delta's cultural and ecological richness.
• Empowering Women in Tourism: His wife's role breaks gender barriers in a field traditionally dominated by men.
• Investing in the Future: Supporting education is an investment in the future of these young minds and the sustainable future of the Kalahari and the Delta.

Join the Expedition: Your support, big or small, will be a pivotal chapter in this incredible journey. As a token of our gratitude, donors will receive updates from the Kalahari and the Delta, exclusive insights into the family's journey, and the warmest of thanks from the heart of Botswana.

Every Dollar Counts: Whether you can contribute financially or share this campaign with your network, every action helps. Let's come together to ensure that Robson, his family, and the Kalahari and Delta's legacy continue to thrive.

Thank you for being a vital part of this expedition. Together, we'll create ripples of positive change in the heart of Africa.
