Education Fund for Josh Eriaku
Donation protected
Hi, my name is May Snowden, and I am on a mission to help raise funds for Josh Eriaku's College education. Joanne's oldest son, Josh M. Eriaku, is a computer scientist desiring to get a degree in this field to be impactful to the human condition. Several years ago, I had the pleasure of working with Joanne Eriaku, an immigrant born in Kenya, Africa and Josh's mother. I found Joanne to be an exceptional mother, thought partner, and friend. Joanne is raising two boys in the United States single-handedly as an immigrant. Her husband passed away, and she has no other support other than her dedication to working hard. The painful realities of being an immigrant family with extremely limited access to financial aid, education loans, and discounted tuition rates have brought his family to its knees.
The reason this is important to me is that I desire to help students who are committed to their study, their work, to their future, and to the community. I also desire to support students who long for education and success. Josh, graduated with a 3.8 GPA out of high school and has shown tremendous commitment to the classroom and community. He was awarded the MLK JR Perseverance Award in 2022 for lifting others up in spite of his difficult circumstances.
Joanne is a program manager and is putting all funds towards her son's tuition. When you are an immigrant, you do not go to college just for yourself -you know you are the hope and future for your parents, extended family, whole clan, and whole tribe. One of the things I learned was that immigrants still in processing do not have access to scholarships, student loans, PAL grants, or any federal or state aid. Josh and his family have been waiting to finalize their immigration processing since 2017. The funds will go directly to Josh's tuition at the University of Texas at Austin. I am asking for your support for a very hard-working, unique, and committed young man. He has dedicated his life to technology for impact. Please donate what you can and be a blessing to this family and the world.
Sincerely,
