Before reading the full description of my fundraiser, please take a moment to watch an interview I did with WSAZ News in 2017 after a spree of drug overdoses took over the city. At the time, I was using my music platform to share some of the pain and struggles I've faced throughout my life in hopes of sparking positivity in the community. The ironic part is that I didn't expect it to work, which ties into why this workshop is so critical for me.
Tonight, I was invited to orientation for an upcoming Discovery workshop by the Educational Awakening Center. The Educational Awakening Center has helped thousands of people realize their potential. Despite having my music in a tv show with Jessica Alba, relocating to Los Angeles to pursue music full-time, and having lots and lots of doors opening for me, I struggle with self-worth on a day to day basis and because of this, I believe I am undeserving and "meant to struggle my whole life and figure it out on my own". I believe that this workshop will help me uncover the root of this negative belief system, as well as provide me with the tools and skills necessary to believe in myself and be who it is I'm meant to be.
On September 13, 2020, I lost everything in a fire in Seattle, WA. Not even a year later, I got accepted into a bachelor's program at Full Sail University studying Audio Production and received the Momentum Scholarship to help cover the cost of tuition, became an Analyst at the Guitar Center headquarters, became a member of the Recording Academy, and just recently landed an intern at a recording studio here in California where I'm currently shadowing billboard/platinum producers. Sounds like I'm living the life of my dreams, huh? That may be true, but there's only one problem....my rent is $2,000 a month, my car payment is $699 a month , the internship I'm doing is currently unpaid, and I took a $20,000 pay cut when I left my job at Amazon to find a job related to music because losing everything in the fire taught me money and job title have absolutely nothing to do with happiness. Making the decision to go into music full time came with sacrifices and extra money was one of the sacrifices I had to, but do not regret, make in order to chase my dreams. The closer I get to my destiny, the more I realize I have to let go of behaviors and perspectives that no longer serve me.
The team at the Educational Awakening Center will help me uncover and remove the root of my insecurities and help me to see myself as I truly am. My biggest hurdle is not reaching my potential, but in seeing it.
If I reach my goal, I'll complete the workshop 1 day before the anniversary of last year's house fire (ironic much?)..
There's no doubt in my mind that this workshop is the key to my awakening and I am 100% committed to doing the work.
Thank you in advance for your support.
If you become a donor and you or someone you know makes music, I will be reaching out to donors to offer a free production service as a thank you for your contribution.

WHERE AM I NOW?
Grammy Museum: Since getting accepted into the Recording Academy earlier this year, I’ve been researching and taking every opportunity possible to grow my network and skill set as a producer/engineer. On 6/25, I got to attend an intimate event hosted by DJ Khalid at the Grammy Museum and contrary to what a lot of people think of him, this man is inspirational. I left the Grammy Museum thinking the reason I was put in the same room as him was so that I could see what self-love looks like. DJ Khalid is his own biggest fan. My goal is to one day believe in myself as much as he believes in himself (and his crazy ideas). Two days after this event, I got an recording/engineering internship at a music studio in Studio City, CA called Clubhouse Studios. If you’ve ever heard the song “Gucci Gang” by Lil Pump, the guy who produced (Big Head On The Beat) it is one of my many mentors at the studio. Whether you’re not into hip hop or not, these guys are teaching me a lot and I’m excited to see where I can go from here!
