Educational cartoon in the Bashkir language
'Balalar' is a multi-series of short 5-minute cartoons. Each episode focuses on interesting and useful topics for children. This exciting format helps children learn the Bashkir language in an entertaining way, while also exploring the world around them.

Why make such cartoons?

In the modern world, it is hard to imagine a child who does not watch cartoons regularly. By watching cartoons, children gain information and knowledge in the language they watch them in, usually Russian or English. This results in reinforcing their vocabulary in these languages. Every parent would confirm that this eventually leads to children giving up the Bashkir language and switching to Russian, even when they are in a purely Bashkir language environment.

Therefore, it is crucial to offer children a quality multimedia product in their native Bashkir language to preserve and popularize it among parents.

After all, if our children stop speaking their native language, there will be no adults left in the future who speak this language.

Project idea

We are going to produce new episodes of the "Balalar" cartoon featuring beloved characters that fans are eagerly awaiting. However, this won't simply be a continuation, but an improved version of the cartoon. We will redraw the characters to make them more vivid, work carefully on the script, create a unified style for the cartoon, apply more advanced animation and production techniques, and add even more songs.

Our goal is to cover even more topics and stories, including introducing Bashkir culture, traditions, and folk instruments. We will explore the natural beauty of Bashkortostan and Russia, as well as basic topics such as clothing, objects, rules of behavior, themes of good and evil, and more.

Project History

The founder of the project is Ildar Kinyabulatov, a well-known Bashkir language activist, manager, and developer. The co-founder and leader of the "Balalar" project is Ruzilya Kinyabulatova. The idea of creating educational cartoons in the Bashkir language came when her family was expecting a new member. Despite having no experience in the animation industry, she managed to gather a great team and provide high-quality media content for children in Bashkir.

Previously, "Balalar" received funding to create educational cartoons from NGOs in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The funding was in the form of grants ($50,000 and $30,000), funds from private sponsors ($4,500), and scholarships ($1,000) awarded to the project leader, R. Kinyabulatova. The project was able to produce its first set of educational cartoons, which have significantly contributed to promoting the Bashkir language among children. To date, the project has 18 short cartoons.

Why contribute to these cartoons?

Previously, the minimum task was to create a quality cartoon in the Bashkir language. Now, the goal is to create as many cartoons as possible. Only having 10-15 episodes over 3-4 years is not enough to hold a child's attention. We need to create more cartoons to keep children interested in their native language.

We don't need to wait for financial assistance to create cartoons. We can create opportunities ourselves and contribute to the development of the language. Everyone can get involved in creating cartoons for children who will be the next generation of Bashkir speakers.

Let's ensure the next generation continues to speak the Bashkir language.

Where will the funds go?

The funds will be used to produce one new episode (continuation) of the "Balalar" cartoon. Creating an animated cartoon is a complex and time-consuming process that requires the participation of many specialists from different fields. The funds collected through crowdfunding will cover the wages, taxes, and social contributions of the specialists involved in creating the "Balalar" cartoon, as well as promoting the series through internet advertising.
