Educational Costs for Romeo

My case is the case of someone who is unable to fully finance his studies, mostly because of the pandemic which has meant that it is difficult for me this semester to find a job (and because as an international student I am only allowed to work on campus).  Though my program at Duke has offered me a generous scholarship that covers 2/3 of my tuition (which is the limit of what they can give), I need to come up with the remaining 1/3.  Due to Covid that has been impossible and I am faced with the prospect of not being able to continue next semester.  If that happens I will lose my student visa and will have to return to my home country in West Africa. 

Right now, I have secured help from a friend of my family (to tune of $6000).  However, I am still $4000 short of the total needed.  I humbly ask if members of the church might be willing to help out.

My long-term ambition is going to law school and to become a lawyer one day, perhaps a human rights lawyer before returning to my country to help in the democratization process.  Currently, I am in the Graduate Liberal Studies program at Duke, a program oriented towards interdisciplinary research and critical analysis—and one that is giving me a sustainable path to law school.

If my church family is able to help my case, I will be forever grateful.  And I would be most glad to discuss my situation further with anyone, perhaps on Sunday after the two services.
