The San Francisco Alliance of Black School Educators (SFABSE) is a dedicated organization committed to enhancing the educational experiences and accomplishments of African American students, parents, and education professionals. Our mission is to improve the quality of life and standard of living in our community by promoting educational excellence and preserving African American history and culture.

About SFABSE:

SFABSE is affiliated with the National Alliance of Black School Educators and is driven by a commitment to bridging the gap for African American students. We focus on addressing urban educational concerns, eliminating the effects of racism in education, and promoting excellence for all. Our objectives include:

- Supporting and disseminating research on the education of African Americans

- Influencing policies that affect African American children and communities

- Providing scholarships to academically successful African American students

- Recruiting African American school personnel

- Offering professional development for educators, parents, volunteers, and community leaders

- Encouraging African American youth to pursue careers in math, science, and technology

Our Annual Events:

SFABSE hosts a variety of annual events that celebrate the educational achievements of San Francisco's Black community. These include:

- Historical Black College/University Fair

- Black Student Union Summit

- African American Read-In

- African American Honor Roll

- Oratorical & Musical Contest

- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Composition & Art Contest

- Scholarship & Retiree Salute

These events are joyous milestones made possible by our dedicated team of current and retired educator volunteers.
