In Memory of Edward Lukash

Our hearts are very saddened, and the world has lost a bright light, with the passing of Edward Lukash. So many people were touched by his larger than life personality. Even if you had just met him, his friendly demeanor made you instantly like him and want to be his friend. He was a true New-Yorker and his humor and singing were gifts to us all.

For those who don't know me, I'm Edward's niece (and Eric's cousin), Colette Blain. My brother and I have countless memories with Uncle Eddie from our childhood summers in New York. In college, Uncle Eddie somehow always bypassed the security measures at my dorm to pick me up for holidays, and he even once stood in as my Dad for "Parents Weekend," since my parents lived far away. Over the years, Uncle Eddie has been such a big part of my life and my children's lives and it's impossible to concisely share so many of my funny memories of him. Like so many people, I will miss him dearly.

Many of us also wish we could somehow ease the family's grief and help in some way. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to help Eric Lukash with the enormous funeral costs. It would help give him one less thing to worry about during this very sad time.

There are so many great stories of Edward Lukash, so please tell a story and share this link to spread the word so we can reach this goal for Eric!

Sending much love to you, Uncle Eddie!
