CBS News Report
On the evening of November 7, 2019, Edward Villasenor was celebrating his 49th Anniversary when he decided to go to the store. He walked down the driveway towards the road doing his daily routine of bringing in the trash totes when he was hit by an SUV, which resulted in him losing his life upon impact. Not too long ago, he was at city council meetings fighting for speed bumps on the very road he lost his life. The driver of the vehicle that hit him sped off and we are currently still looking for the vehicle. The vehicle is believed to be a late 1980s to early 2000s GMC or Chevy SUV in the color red, that has moderate to severe damage in the front. If you happen to spot this vehicle, please contact the Elk Grove PD.
He was the founder of B&V Landscaping, which was a major contribution to numerous city parks and landmarks in Elk Grove and the greater Sacramento area. Not only was he a prominent figure in the community, he was the main care provider for his wife, Shirley Villasenor, who was diagnosed with advanced dementia in 2016.
We are raising funds for his memorial expenses and the continued care for his wife. His eldest daughter, Debbie Colquitt, will be in charge of all the final expenses.
