13-year old Edwige needs medical care

Donation protected
My friend Crépin is a Bible translator from Cameroon, living in the town of Ombessa. He and his team successfully translated the New Testament into Nugunu. I worked with him for about seven years, and I was impressed by his intelligence, integrity, and organizational skills. Now that the Bible translation project has concluded, Crépin supports his family through farming.

When I met Crépin, he and his wife had lost more than one child in infancy. Because of this, when their youngest daughter Edwige was born, they called a special prayer meeting to pray that she would live and be healthy. I was honored to be at Crépin's house in Ombessa for that prayer meeting. Tragically, several years after that time of celebration and prayer, Crépin's older daughter Tamar died, leaving him and his wife Marie with Tamar's 2-month-old baby.

Now Edwige is seriously ill. They do not have a diagnosis for her illness, but she has chest pain and loses consciousness for up to ten hours at a time. They have sought medical care in their town, but they need to travel to the capital, Yaoundé, and get extensive testing and care at one of the hospitals there.

Edwige is an intelligent girl who loves school. Her parents want to do everything in their power to restore her health.

I prayed for Edwige thirteen years ago, and now it's time to add action to prayer. That's why I'm trying to raise funds for Edwige's medical testing and treatment. We don't know how much it will cost, but we thought $3,000 would be a very good start.
